Our Mission

At The Midnight Collective Productions, we create raw, emotional stories that connect deeply with audiences. Focused on independent films, we craft bold, character-driven narratives that challenge expectations and leave lasting impressions. We also strive to provide opportunities for those who may not have the advantages others do, working with passionate individuals trying to break through in the industry.

The Founder Behind the Lens

Tobee Collins

Founded by filmmaker Tobee Collins, The Midnight Collective Productions was created from a lifelong passion for storytelling and a belief that the most powerful films are the ones that linger long after the credits roll. Growing up in the wide-open landscapes of Wyoming, I developed a fascination with human connection, quiet moments, and the emotions that often go unspoken—ideas that continue to shape the company's character-driven storytelling.

After relocating to New York City to study Business Management and Film & Screen Studies at Pace University, I eagerly sought every opportunity to gain experience on film sets. Like many emerging filmmakers, however, breaking into the industry proved difficult without an established network or previous credits. Rather than waiting for an opportunity to appear, I decided to create one. Countless hours were spent teaching myself every aspect of filmmaking—from writing scripts and operating cameras to lighting scenes, editing films, producing shoots, and learning the countless moving pieces that bring a story to life, and frankly I'm still learning and growing, but that's the fun part! That self-taught foundation ultimately led to the creation of The Midnight Collective Productions, a company built not only to tell meaningful stories, but to provide aspiring cast and crew members with the same first opportunity that can be so difficult to find. The goal is to foster an environment where emerging artists can learn, collaborate, build their portfolios, and grow together in one of the world's most competitive industries.

Before stepping fully into filmmaking, more than a decade of customer service experience, including time as a Customer Service Manager, helped develop my leadership, communication, and people-first approach that now defines every production.

Through directing, writing, producing, and collaborating on a growing slate of independent films, I continue to embrace every opportunity to learn and evolve as a storyteller. While refusing to be confined to a single genre, I'm especially drawn to the emotional honesty of coming-of-age stories and the unsettling tension of psychological horror. Rather than following familiar formulas, each project strives to redefine familiar genres by exploring them through deeply personal characters, emotional realism, and unexpected perspectives.

A signature of my work is balancing intimate, emotionally grounded storytelling with suspense, ambiguity, and endings that continue to live in the audience's mind long after the credits roll. Whether through a haunting final twist, an open-ended cliffhanger, or a lingering emotional question, the goal is to spark conversation and invite viewers to draw their own conclusions.

At its core, The Midnight Collective Productions is founded on the belief that independent filmmaking should be collaborative, inclusive, and fearless. Every production is an opportunity to champion new voices, take creative risks, and create films that challenge expectations while leaving audiences with something to think about long after they leave the theater.
